Our Philosophy

Creating Beauty by Mastering Fabrics

At Nishikawa Sangyo, we strive to create beauty by producing fabrics, and work to expand their potential.

A Message from Our President

西川雄太郎社長

Since our establishment in 1909, Nishikawa Sangyo has constantly worked to improve our weaving technologies, develop our unique inventiveness, and keep our quality standards high as we deliver thin fabrics for use in various fields. Recently, we have introduced our new JUNOS brand, for use by the worldwide fashion industry.
We believe in our corporate philosophy, “creating beauty by mastering fabrics,” and have chosen the production of thin woven synthetic materials as our means of accomplishing it. By making the most of the skills and experience we have accumulated, do we accurately grasp our customers' needs and suggest the optimal material? Do we then produce high-quality products faster and more efficiently than ever, proceeding to delivery more smoothly than ever before? By asking ourselves these questions as fabric specialists, with constant concern for their significance, we have been able to evolve as a company.
The announcement of our new JUNOS brand is the culmination of our century-long history of fabrics, and none other than the embodiment of our corporate philosophy. The name itself combines “J” for “Japan” with “UNO,” representing our company-wide spirit to be the one and only company that makes what we do.
We look forward to continuing our work to expand the limits of fabrics, and we hope to continue to earn our customers' trust and satisfaction.

Our History

A Century-Long Story of Weaving in Johana.

At Nishikawa Sangyo, we are the inheritors of the town of Johana's four centuries of silk textile history. Starting early on, we worked to combine this tradition with the production of synthetic fabrics, using our technologies to develop beautiful thin fabrics with a wonderful feel, the likes of which are produced by no other company. We are so driven in our efforts to produce thin fabrics that our previous president, Yusaku Nishikawa, once stated, “If you can't see through it to the other side, it isn't a Nishikawa fabric.”
Our current president, Yutaro Nishikawa, is working to further evolve the company by developing and releasing the JUNOS brand of ultra-thin fabrics, as a way to establish the Johana brand worldwide for thin fabrics. We look forward to continuing to work on developing products that could only be produced by us, as we continue to explore the potential of new materials.
